STUDENTS RALLY ACROSS AMERICA TO FREE IDF SOLDIERS One thousand students rallied in front of the United Nations, one of 50 student-led events taking place across North America today (Oct. 30), mostly at university campuses, to raise awareness and call for the safe return of the captive IDF soldiers. The New York rally, organized by the Jewish Community Relations Council and the American Zionist Movement, attracted high school and college students, local government officials and Jewish leaders.

World Solidarity Day at the University of Illinois at Chicago included a Lunch and Learn discussion with Deborah Fishman, AZM Program Director, at 12:30p.m. From 3:30-5:30, there was tabling (handing out information) with Israeli music on the campus quad, the main quad on campus. At 5:30 p.m., there was a candlelight vigil for the soldiers, which included reflections on the soldiers, prayers, and thoughts from two young people who had recently served in the IDF. There were about
25 people at the vigil.

The Solidarity event took place at the Nuzik synagogue in Warsaw, and was attanded by Mr David Peleg, embassador to Poland, heads of the community and local rabbis. During the event, we showed a presentation on the soldiers, watched a video message from Karnit, taught a song (lema'an achai) and signed a petition which will be sent to the Head of the UN.
